Practices of Nostalgia for the Soviet in the Generation of the 60-80s

Abstract:
The study analyzes the results of questionnaires and biographical interviews with people who lived in the USSR and whose childhood and adolescence were in the 60-80s. The study reveals the peculiarities of practices through which nostalgia for the Soviet period manifests itself, as well as its causes. The results show that nostalgia for the Soviet past is expressed both at the personal and collective level. Nostalgia is manifested in the preservation of material symbols and emotional memories related to personal experiences. Confidence in the future, a sense of belonging to the society and rich cultural heritage are the main factors causing nostalgia for the Soviet time.
